Ministry of the Treasury, Boards and trade unions discussed privatization of Polfas
A meeting of representatives of the Ministry of the Treasury, members of the Boards of Polfas associated in the Polish Pharmaceutical Holding S.A. and representatives of trade unions, was held on January 30, 2008 in the seat of the Ministry of the Treasury. Talks concerned the planned privatization of the companies.
The vice minister of the Treasury, Jan Bury, informed that the interministerial consultations regarding changes in the national programme for the pharmaceutical sector should come to an end at the turn of March and April. Adopting the modified strategy by the government will enable starting the privatization process of companies previously associated in PPH.
The question of the form of the privatization is still open. Possibilities include entering the stock exchange, winning a strategic investor, selling some of the companies together or all of them separately. Vice minister Bury intends to consider proposals of the Boards of individual Polfas in making the final desision.
